A two-part documentary series about culturally embracing migration
Mission
In the spotlight of the modern world, migration often seems to be captured in a narrative of flight and problems, a one-sided view that rarely highlights its true richness. Our documentary 'People are made to move, culturally embracing migration' aims to challenge these misconceptions and provide an alternative perspective on migration. The mission of the documentary is to demonstrate that migration is an inseparable and enriching part of our culture, rather than a 'phenomenon' that must be fought or solved. From an exploration of our shared history, it is explained that we are all essentially migrants, and that this is something to be proud of. And that migration is not only the movement of people, but also the movement of ideas, creativity and culture.
For whom?
The basis of this mission is to transcend prevailing negative stories and views about migration and to appeal to a specific target group. We often hear the extreme opposites in the debate; those who are strongly against migration versus those who are strongly in favor. But what about the people who are in between? This group is known as 'the Movable Middle'. These are people in society who may be in favor of migration, but at the same time resist or hesitate, or who often do not have a strong opinion on the subject. The goal is to make this group aware of a deeper perspective on and the value of migration, not just as a news item, but as an ongoing force that shapes and enriches the world.
Distribution
The documentary series is intended to reach an international audience and actively involve viewers in the subject of migration. A broad deployment ensures that a varied audience is reached, including the intended movable middle, who may have different media preferences.
